Employment Specialist - Pre-ETS Student Services Program
The Employment Specialist -Pre-ETS Student Services is responsible for the coordination, development, planning, outreach, assessment, and evaluation of the Pre-Employment Transition Services program, and is expected to promote educational advancement and employment-oriented goals for students with disabilities seeking services through Sonder SOLUTIONS. The Employment Specialist -Pre-ETS Student Services fosters relationships with schools, educational institutions, and community-based business partners to secure or maintain work-based learning opportunities for student participants and works with educational staff and employers to ensure that program participants are able to develop essential skills and are empowered to reach their educational and career goals.
The Employment Specialist -Pre-ETS Student Services oversees service-specific outcomes, implements direct services provided by the organization to include evaluation of services, personal development, career exploration, postsecondary education planning, workplace readiness training, self-advocacy instruction, individual service plans, case management, and service delivery. Employees in this position serve as a liaison with the Department of Rehabilitation, educational institutions, community business partners, and fellow staff to provide updates and required reports on students' service objectives. This position requires general knowledge of postsecondary education pathways, the youth workforce, work-readiness skills, transition planning, case management, community resources available for students with disabilities, and the ability to make recommendations regarding the necessary services and plans for each student participant's successful transition from school to further education and employment.
